I wouldn't define that as "soft" motivation vs money. I agree that money is important, but you'll never retain great performers just by paying them more than your competitors. It is often necessary, but not enough. I agree with Uspeh, good professionals don't work just for money, what they want is satisfaction which means new challenges, recognition, personal values, etc. And our job as HR is to develop and impement retantion and motivation programs based on these needs.
A agree that sales people are often more focused on money than back-office. But for them money and deals are the indicators of their success as professionals. So, it might be not money itself what really motivates them.

This is old song.....I think that all hr-managers know it.....But not all can calculate the benefits from impletment of non-motivation in the money....Without this,it are only words

Sergey, as you know, we strive for two aims here:
1. We discuss different HR subjects
2. We try to improve our English

I'm going to start from the second point.

But it exist categores of workers, which prefer above all money. For example, miners.. Will they work for two thousand plus deed? I dont believe...
But if we are speaking about mature womens, why not....
Best regards to Lugansk...I miss for this grey city. But it isnt strong
Blinok forever in my heart

To express that something is somewhere we usually use "there is/there are": not "It exist categories", but "there are some categories" And by the way, if the first variant is possible, we should say/write “it exists
“Above all” we usually put to the end of the sentence, for example: “I prefer money above all”
The word “miss” in the meaning of “скучать по…” we use without “for”, for example “I miss you”, the word “long” in the same meaning we use with “for” : “I long for my city”.
The word “strong” in the meaning of “сильный ” we use to express physical ability, but for mental we usually use such words as “deeply”, “heavily”, “a lot of” and so on.
About people who sale… It depends on… I know a lot of managers who won’t choose their future job only for money. I think it is some personal motivation. Some people want just salary, some want more)))
And if to be honest I don’t understand what do you mean “Has starorusskie already surrendered?”

We use Motivation 3.0 approach based on Daniel Pink's "Drive"
and pay attention to 3 "whales" :)

Mastery: Satisfaction with tasks & role, professional growth, team/individuals' education needs
Autonomy: Freedom (to choose tools, recommend solutions, etc.)
Purpose: Involvement, having bigger picture/roadmap, sense of belonging, etc.
